About RFduino

Here comes a quick presentation about RFduino module.

RFduino (quick) presentation

RFduino is an Arduino compatible microcontroller, with a Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy built-in module. It provides 7 GPIO lines, which all supports digital I/O, analog input (10 bit ADC), I2C, SPI, UART and PWM. Some shields are available: RBG Led / push button shield, USB shield (for RFduino programming), prototyping shield, servo shield, CR2032 coin battery shield, single AAA battery shield, dual AAA battery shield and relay shield.

It is powered by a Nordic 32 bit ARM Cortex-M0 processor and provides:

  • Program storage: 128kB (source: boards.txt)
  • EEPROM storage: 128kB minus program size (source: Memory.h)
  • RAM: 16kB with 8kB for stack storage and 8kB for application storage (source: forum post and Memory.h)

Electrical specifications are available on the official datasheet.

This microcontroller started as a Kickstarter project, and now has its own website.

You can see on the photo below my Kickstarter reward:
