Grisbi.app for MacOS X Intel with native GTK+ rendering

Packaged versions of Grisbi software for MacOS X are only available for PowerPC based computers, and use X11 for rendering. It's now time for Intel version of software with native GTK+ rendering to come.

Description

Grisbi.app is a binary distribution of Grisbi for Mac OS X which uses Aqua GTK+ rendering.

This version is compiled under MacOS X 10.5 (Leopard) on Intel architecture. Grisbi.app compatibility is:

MacOS X 10.0 to 10.3 : doesn't not work (due to Aqua GTK+ requirements).
MacOS X 10.4/Intel : it may work (I could not test). At least it will need to be rebuilded from sources.
MacOS X 10.5/Intel : it will work.

For PowerPC architecture, you will have to rebuild Grisbi.app from sources.

To install, just drag the Grisbi icon into the Applications folder or anywhere else you would like.

Grisbi.app is packaged by myself, using the MacPorts project found at http://www.macports.org/ and the Platypus script wrapper from http://www.sveinbjorn.org/platypus/. It's mainly inspired of DarwinGimp (http://darwingimp.sf.net/).

Both Platypus and the Grisbi, along with the rest of Grisbi.app are distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, described in the accompanying LICENSE.txt file.

Warning: This version of Grisbi.app is not clear of issues (see BUGS.txt file into disk image). I'll try to release the application compiled as universal binary, and with a more polished version of native GTK+. So use at your own risks.

Java 6 for MacOS X

As I use my MacBook as a development platform at work (I'm a computer consultant in a small company), and as I'm specialized in Java development, I have the need on some projects to use Java 6 SDK. Sun does not provide any Java SDK for MacOS platform, and let Apple to provide its own JVM (based on Sun's one). But MacOS X was stuck on Java 5 SDK.

I say “was” because Apple now provides a Java 6.0 update. But you know how Apple is: a long time with a (very) few amount of RAM on their computers, low-end graphic cards on their high-end computers, combo drives on their first priced MacBooks, etc. Yes, they sometime take some decisions which are difficult to understand. And oops, they did it again. You want to use Java 6 on your Mac, you'll have to own an Apple computer with a Core 2 Duo CPU. You own a PPC based Mac ? forget it. You own a core duo based Mac (it only two years old) ? forget it to. You really want to use Java 6 SDK ? Buy a new computer… or not.

If you really need to use Java 6 SDK and don't why you need to buy a computer with a 64 bit CPU (Java 6 works perfectly on Windows based computers, regardless their CPU), you have another solution : SoyLatte JDK. SoyLatte is Java 6 port based on FreeBSD Java, which is based on Sun's open-sourced Java. It works on all Intel based macintoshes (sorry for PPC owners).

To use it for development, you just have to download the archive, unpack it and declare the new JAVA_HOME to your development tools.

Oh, you have another solution to get an Apple Java 6 SDK for your computer: you just have to wait, but nobody knows how long…

ROT13 [de|en]code Widget : ROT13 decoding for your Dashboard

Wiktionary articles can now be edited from within the widget.
User can now change font size.
Added a pull-down menu to the back with the languages of the largest wiktionaries.

Green, red and grey (along with the good 'ol blue) UI color selections.
Now collapses horizontally as well as vertically.
Individual widget instances remember their respective language settings, sizes and colors upon restart, and clean up the preference file when they're closed.
When you scroll down in an article, then open a new article or go back in the history, the widget will remember where you were scrolled to, so if you return to the article it'll be where you left off.
Localization compatible.
French localization by Floréal Molina (and modified by Arnaud Boudou).
The 'cancel loading' behavior (click the progress indicator) has been fixed, I think. It was pretty flakey when you were 'back' in the history a couple articles, clicked a link, then cancelled the loading. A hover graphic has been added.
A couple scrolling-related bugfixes. Before, if you opened an article too short to fill the entire widget, and pressed the up/down arrows, or scrolled with the mousewheel, the content would jump from the top to the bottom of the viewing area. Also, if you scrolled to the bottom of a large article, then opened a small article, sometimes the small article would be displayed 'offscreen' until scrolling up.
The stretch animation has been smoothed out.
Other small bugfixes.

NOCC Webmail and Wii

As you can see, NOCC webmail works perfectly with Wii browser (Wii uses Opera browser). The only non functional thing is attachment adding as the related HTML control is disabled by the browser.

Description

This plugin allows to automatically switch blog's interface language depending on browser's preferred language settings. A browser sets to display french first will display the blog using french; A browser sets to display english first will display the blog using english, etc.

Warning, this plugin is only to be used with Dotclear 2.x

You have nothing special to do to use this plugin. You just have to install it, then within “about:config” set blog language to blank.

GregariusMenu: Gregarius' best friend

Something was missing to the online aggregator, Gregarius. It was the possibility to have unread posts count without being on Gregarius' page. It's now done.
